Waiting for My Real Life to Begin

The life and times of a girl named Swishy.

In my next life

I want to come back independently wealthy with a beach house on one coast and a cozy little bed and breakfast-y place on the other, with no time for trivial concerns like, ohhhh, major life and career decisions.

I'd also like to have a personal chef. And perfect hair.

I have no real announcements but everything, and I do mean everything, is on the table right now as far as I'm concerned (in other words, feel free to email me fabulous job listings!). I have until the end of April to make a decision and, yes, I'm obsessing about it a little right now. When I'm slightly less neurotic about the whole thing, I'll blog about it ... but either way, I plan to be back to spying on people at coffee shops before long, don't you worry.

ditto to the beach house, chef and fabu hair ... actually, i'd like to have those in this life. :)

it sounds like things are scary/exciting in your world right now! major life decisions usually make me nauceous ... even if they are positive. i hope that there are some good things on the table.

can't wait to read the details!

All those sound real nice - though instead of having the chef I would like a nicer kitchen and more time to cook.

In the end, I am sure you will end up just fine.

It's so scary when life is up in the air like this...but totally exciting, too. My sister used to call me at times like this and leave a message on my machine that said, "I'm Voting!" When I asked her what she meant, she said, "You know...like a vote of confidence. I know you're going to be just great..."
So here you go:

I'm voting! :)

eek - what a year you're having! I hope everything works out the way you want it to.

Wow, can I wish the same for my next life? We can all be neighbors! ;)

I hope after things settle down a bit for you your able to make your decision with a quiet mind and a happy heart.

The B&B sounds great! Why wait for the next life, can you do it now? I know they are incredibly expensive, but maybe with loans? Then you could have the chef! ;)

Good luck and if I do come across any fabulous jobs, you'll be the first to know!

Why wait for another life to open a B&B? It sounds like you get to make some changes soon. If you've got the dream of a B&B, go for it. Why not? you're young, you're smart. Quit waiting for your real life to begin and start it.

As far as being independently wealthy... when your B&B is super successful you can open a chain of them. Hire someone else to run them and escape to your beach house home.

I want a beach house too!!!! We can share one!

Hey, anyone would be LUCKY to have you Swishy!!! Very lucky indeed.

I'm voting, too. In much the same boat these days. Good luck!

Wait. You don't want to OWN this bed and breakfast place do you? Cuz then you'll have to RUN it, and that would be too much work. Can't you just like ... Oh wait... you'll be wealthy and own it so you can hire someone to run it for YOU. That'll work. I'm guessing you want the beach house in California and the B&B in Jersey? Cape May maybe?

Hmm, I can tell you some great places NOT to work. I'll ask some friends in the [industry that you work in] community and see if I hear anything.

In another life, I'd like to own a bookstore in a seaside town.

And I'm voting too. (Well played, Trish Ryan's sister).

I like your plan for your next life.

at least you have a good amount of time to make a decision of some sort. My last job gave us 3 days. Yeah, life changing decisions take a little more time. Good luck

I'd kind of like that in this life...

If you become independently wealthy, will you marry me?

OK. I'm dying to know what's going on. You can move by me . . .

I'd give anything for a chef. I am microwaving way too much. I'd like perfect skin along with the perfect hair. I swear, my skin will forever be in puberty.

I'll be thinking of you and hoping all goes well with the MOVE . . .

Come to WISCONSIN, woman!!!! The Fox Valley is the place to be. I'm telling you.

Just don't move farther away, okay?

Bet you could get another offer in town before you have to decide on moving. You're fabulous. And there's always the CIA.

and i so want a beach house, chef, perfect hair, personal trainer too, wouldn't that just be the greatest?
